ATEX / DSEAR (2 Day) - Introduction to Potentially Explosive Atmospheres and the Dangerous Substance and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations
ATEX / DSEAR is a two day course suitable for Health and Safety Managers and Practitioners, Team Leaders, Operators, Project Managers and Governance / Contract Managers.
The course provides detailed knowledge of the subject matter without practical application.
· The ATEX Directives
· Requirements of DSEAR
. Fundamental Theory of Explosions
· Brief Overview of Area Classification
· Detailed review of Protection Concepts (Electrical and non-electrical)
. Ignition Risk Assessment (non-electrical)
· Installations in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
· Inspection and Maintenance Requirements
Recommended Target Audience : Suitable for practitioners / managers / supervisors / engineers / requiring the necessary core knowledge to work safely in potentially explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas) for compliance with the requirements of ATEX / DSEAR.
Pre-Requisites: Detailed electrical / mechanical engineering background is strongly recommended.
A certificate of achievement is issued upon successful completion of the course and a short post course assessment. Note, this certificate is not a qualification and does not guarantee personal competency. For assessment of personal competency please see our website www.competency.baseefa.com
Lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of attendance.
Run at our Baseefa premises at pre-scheduled dates throughout the year, this course can also be run at customer's premises on request or at any suitable venue of convenience to you.
