ATEX / DSEAR Overview (1 day) - Introduction to Potentially Explosive Atmospheres and the Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmosphere Regulations
ATEX / DSEAR is a one day course aimed at anyone new to the subject area, from managers to operators, needing to establish a broad overview.
The course syllabus includes :
. Overview of the ATEX Directive and DSEAR Requirements
. Fundamental Theory of Explosions
. Brief Overview of Area Classification
. Overview of Protection Concepts (electrical and non- electrical)
. Ignition Risk Assessment (non-electrical)
. Overview of Installations in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
. Overview of Inspection and Maintenance requirements
Recommended Target Audience : Suitable for paractitioners / managers / supervisors / engineers / operators requiring a brief overview of working safely in potentially explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas) for compliance with the requirements of ATEX / DSEAR.
Pre-Requisites, but not essential : General Electrical and Mechanical engineering background recommended.
A certificate of attendance is issued upon successful completion of the course. Note, this certificate is not a qualification and does not guarantee personal competency. Lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of attendance.
Run at our Baseefa premises at pre-scheduled dates throughout the year, this course can also be run at customer premises on request or at any suitable venue of convenience to you.
