IECEx Service Facility Certification

Baseefa was the first certification body in the world to have its IECEx scope extended to include electrical Service Facility Certification.

Accreditation to the Approved IECEx Certification Body status enables Baseefa to operate within the IECEx Certified Equipment Programme and as such can issue Certificates of Conformity covering Service Facilities for the repair and overhaul of equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Introduction & Operation

IECEx Certificates of Conformity are issued by approved IECEx Certification Bodies (ExCBs).

An IECEx Certificate of Conformity attests that a Service Facility, described on the Certificate, has been independantly assessed and found to have appropriate equipment, competent staff and operate procedures that provide confidence that the repair, overhaul or modification work complies with IECEx requirements, including IEC 60079-19.

It also attests that the Service Facilities site has been audited to verify that the Service Facility meets IECEx requirements, specified in IECEx Operational Document OD 14.

The IECEx Operational Documents listed below provide detailed information concerning the IECEx On-line Certificate of Conformity System for Service Facilities and the process for achieving IECEx Certification.

The Baseefa Service Facility Certification is for customers who do not require the additional features of the IECEx scheme. Baseefa continues to operate the Baseefa Licence Scheme for Service Facilities. This involves the same process and same standards, but the online registration is limited to the Baseefa website.
