Quality Assurance is clearly an important issue in the manufacture of Ex products. Having confidence that actual products being supplied comply with their certified design is vital for all concerned.
Baseefa helps manufacturers to manage the risk involved through provision of training in this area, and by means of continued monitoring of manufacture arrangements by auditor / engineers with extensive Ex product knowledge.
In many cases, such monitoring is a compulsory requirement.
Depending on the Category of Equipment, ATEX requires that one of the conformity assessment modules that include a QA audit be applied by a Notified Body before products can be legally placed on the market.
In all cases, the issue of an IECEx Certificate of Conformity is dependant on a Quality Assessment Report being in place that applies to the manufacturing location.
The requirements in each case are essentially the same. The QA System is confirmed as meeting requirements in an appropriate Quality System Satndard which is based on ISO 9000, and is subjected to ongoing audits to confirm its suitability in relation to the range of products concerned.
