The assessment of risk is a fundamental principle underpinning most modern day Product Safety and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. DSEAR is no exception. The risk associated with potentially explosive atmospheres must be assessed in the same way, although these risks may not be obvious to the untrained eye.
