The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR) became part of UK law on 30th June 2003. It is enforced by the Health and Safety Executive. They are empowered to serve Improvement notices and Prohibition notices on employers that do not comply with the legislation.
