Competency Assessment Confidence through thorough. professional assessment.
For many organisations, the first time professional competency is questioned, or asked to be demonstrated, is in a court of law following an unfortunate incident. In many cases, competency assessment is only sought after such an event has occurred. Yet regulatory requirements and guidance clearly emphasise the need to ensure the competency of personnel working in and around potentially explosive atmospheres. The potential effects of incompetence can be significant. Therefore it makes sense that personnel competence in this area of expertise should always be assured. Industry has stressed the need to assess the competency of those working in potentially explosive atmospheres.
In complying with ATEX 137 and DSEAR, employers and workplace owners must ensure competent personnel are employed to verify the safety of workplaces where explosive atmospheres may occur. Baseefa recognises the need for flexibility when assessing individual personnel and company wide competency and capabilities. We adapt our processes to meet the needs of our clients, whilst maintaining a fundamental approach of task/skill matching in addition to formal knowledge and experience assessment, and surveillance. This ensures effective and efficient use of our client’s and assessor’s time, whilst ensuring industry and international best practice and guidance is maintained.
In addition Baseefa offers a comprehensive range of training courses associated with potentially explosive atmospheres These courses can be used to support any competency application, and to fill any gaps identified in the candidates knowledge.
