How do i obtain ATEX QA Notification ?

Publication P05 (see the download section of the webiste) contains a detailed of the QA Notification process including background information, full details of obtaining and maintaining a Notification, and the Terms and Conditions that apply.

To obtain a Notification for the first time:

Complete an Application Form QAN1 and return it to us. This provides the information we need to give you a quote. Please note:

If the Notification is to apply to the certificates not issued or held by Baseefa Limited; you will need to send copies of these.
If your Quality System is certified to ISO 9000, we will need a copy of the certificate.

We may need more information and if so will get in touch. We will give you a quote which will include the cost up to and including the issue of the Notification, and the cost of the surveillance.

Once you have the go ahead, if you are not already registered with us, we need you to complete a Registration Document REG1. In addition to providing all the necessary contact details, this confirms your agreement to the Terms and Conditions that apply to the Service.

The next step is for you to send a copy of your Quality System documentation so we can check that it includes the necessary requirements for the products concerned. Please note:

You need to refer to EN 13980 and make any necessary changes to include its requirements in your system.

We will provide a guidance checklist to help you at this stage, and let you know what documents we need to see.

If you are unsure about how to approach any aspect or need to clarify any of the requirements in your system, we are pleased to try to help.

If there is any need to change the documentation, we will contact you and discuss the situation.

When the documentation is okay, and at a time when any related product certification work is at a suitable stage, we will agree a date for an initial assessment visit.

We will correspond with you regarding any problems the assessment may raise. Our Aim will be to resolve these by correspondence, but in the event of more serious concerns a further visit could be required.

Once any non conformities raised during the assessment are cleared, we will issue the Notification.

The first surveillance visit will normally take place between 6 and 12 months after the issue of the notification.
